Flat-out racing at the Racing Chance Pimbo RR

Sunday 25 June

As well as South Wales, we had a team in action at the legendary Pimbo Industrial Estate on Sunday. They took to the start of the 100km National B race alongside some of the best local riders. Here’s Ash Coning’s view on proceedings…

“Well, it was a lot better weather than last time we raced at Pimbo!

“It was a fast race from the gun and after numerous attacks in the first 45 minutes, a break finally got away with about 10 riders in it. They worked well together and, despite our best efforts, they stayed out to win the race.

“So it came down to a bunch sprint in the peloton. Dan, Josh and I had worked pretty well all race at the front of the bunch. When it came to the sprint I tried not to get boxed in.

“Like at the Yorkshire evening road race on Thursday, I had a pretty good sprint, taking fourth junior, and towards the front of a pretty big peloton of about 60 riders, with Dan a couple of places behind me.

“All in all it was a good race and I’m happy with how I’m performing at the moment. Onto the next one!”

Congrats to Ryan Ashcroft on the win.

Thank you to Heather, Fred and everyone involved in putting on such a great event.
