George, Josh and Dan returned to the Bashall Eaves course for the always hotly-contested West Pennine Road Race.
The race didn’t get off to the best start for George, with his gear cable snapping during his warm-up. Despite his best efforts to sort it out, he was forced to either not start or complete the whole race in his biggest gear. Not one to give up easily, George decided to take on the challenge.
Dan and Josh both rode in support of George, doing what they could to help him through the race.
Unfortunately, due to the gear he was pushing, George was unable to follow any of the moves so he decided the best option was to sit in and try to get a good result in the sprint.
Four riders broke clear with a few laps to go and George and Josh prepared for the sprint.
Despite having to grapple with the wrong gear for the whole race, George still had enough left in the tank to sprint strongly and finish 4th from the bunch so 8th overall. Josh was unfortunately held up by a rider who sat up in the sprint and Dan finished after burying himself for the team.
It was a great result for George and the team against the odds.
