Michael Hall sprinted to fourth place at Salt Ayre on Tuesday evening in his first race of the year.
Michael started to suffer some knee pain back in early February. After consulting his doctor, Michael was informed that he needed to let it heal and he therefore wouldn’t be able to race until April.
Working in conjunction with team coach Jody Warrington, Michael was able to continue training lightly on the turbo initially and then start to get out on the road and slowly ramp up the distance and intensity. This careful managing by Jody along with Michael’s knowledge of his body’s limits meant that the time away from racing was used as effectively as possible.
And it certainly showed on Michael’s return to competition on Tuesday.
Alongside Sam and Josh, Michael rode aggressively all race and then pulled out a great sprint to finish fourth.
We’ve certainly missed Michael during the first part of the season and we’re delighted that he’s back in action.
